How to clean the Bedfont® breath analysis devices
When cleaning the Smokeryzer®, NObreath®, ToxCO®, and Gastrolyzer® breath analysis device. It is recommended to use alcohol-free solutions.
One option is to clean the device with a damp cloth using water or a mild detergent; the following categories of alcohol-free cleaning compounds are recommended:

Cleaning products and cleaning wipes containing the above ingredients within the recommended concentrations are suitable for use with Bedfont® breath analysis devices.
Bedfont® have tested and can recommend the following cleaning wipes:
- Azomax Universal Wipes (by Vernacare)
- Clinell Universal Wipes (by Gama Healthcare)
- Clinell Clorox Wipes (by Gama Healthcare)
- AF3 Sani-cloth Germicidal Disposable Wipe (by PDI)
Do not clean the device with products containing any type of alcohol, including any cleaning products that may be used to clean other equipment or the surrounding surface area, as well as alcohol wipes, gels, or sprays used on patients.
Do not use products such as, but not limited to:
- Disinfectants, sprays, or wipes containing alcohol.
- Any cleaning agents used to clean your facility or other equipment in the area, as well as alcohol wipes or sprays used on patients.
- Hand sanitizer containing alcohol.
Use of substances containing alcohol close to Bedfont® breath analysis devices may cause erroneous results. Bedfont® recommends minimising the use of any solvents close to, or around the device.
