New, improved fumigation monitoring
Bedfont Scientific have added two new fumigation monitors to their range.
Highly effective monitoring of the concentration of fumigant gas in a treatment area, guarantees the correct exposure level has been maintained for the complete eradication of infestation. Safety and peace of mind for staff that safe working levels are reached prior to re-entry to treatment area.
Introducing:-
Sulfuma and MBfuma
Sulphuryl fluoride is a popular gas for fumigation of mills, warehouses, storage structures, transportation and many commodities and food within them.
Sulphuryl fluoride as with most fumigants needs to be monitored to ensure fumigation is carried out effectively and also to ensure that the fumigation environment is safe for personnel re-entry. It is for this purpose that Bedfont have developed the Sulfuma monitor to ensure that the adequate fumigant level is reached during a fumigation process.
The Sulfuma monitor uses a thermal conductivity sensor to detect sulphuryl fluoride in the range of 0 – 200mg/l.
Methyl bromide fumigation has been used globally as a disinfestation treatment for many years. It has a reputation for effectiveness against a wide range of pests and commodity combinations. It is favoured in many countries for plant quarantine because of its reputation for having good penetration ability; rapid action; high toxicity to a broad spectrum of insects and similar pests.
It is frequently used for treating timber, agricultural products, empty containers, foodstuffs, seeds and plants.
The concentration of Methyl Bromide required for successful fumigation will vary depending on the commodity being fumigated, the size of fumigation area, etc. This concentration of Methyl Bromide must be closely monitored for effective fumigation and for this purpose Bedfont has developed the MBfuma monitor which measures Methyl Bromide in the range of 0 – 200mg/l.
